Going back to this music was a time warp for me, as I’m sure it is for you. While I had my head buried in the minutiae of this music, I saw old friends and forgotten spaces, heard distant voices and remembered old jokes. The music contained in [Fearless (Taylor’s Version)] exploded to all ends of the Earth and forever changed my life and many of my band mates’ who are also represented here. It was a rocket ride indeed. Getting to play these songs in the studio was like opening up a yearbook and fondly remembering the unbelievable times that were had during those couple years. Pure magic. i think the real vocal difference is that on the originals you can tell little baby taylor is having to give it all she’s got full force every take, and adult taylor masters these songs so effortlessly and with so much control and confidence. not that she didn’t sound good before, she just sounds so much more relaxed in reaching that level. like she has nothing to prove, she has come home, she owns it.
